Window Tinting in Wavertree: A Mixed Suburb of Terraces and Retail
People in Wavertree ask us for window tinting when the sun, the street or the neighbours are getting into a room. The fix is film fitted to the inside of the glass you already have. Where neighbours or passers-by can see in, one-way film fixes it for the daytime without darkening the room much. Fading is mostly an ultraviolet problem, and UV protection film blocks most of it while hardly changing the look of the glass.
We fit around trading hours, in the evenings, at weekends or on closed days, so the business keeps running. We fit homes and businesses, so whichever you are, the process is the same: a free survey, samples on your glass and one fixed price. Our patch includes Edge Hill, Childwall and Allerton and the wider Merseyside area.

- Wavertree High Street and the Botanic Gardens side
- Independent shops along the high street face the sun, while the streets near the park have big Victorian bays. UV film suits both: it protects stock in the window and slows fading of floors in the bays.
- Terraces and a retail park
- Wavertree has Victorian terraces, a high street and a large retail park. Terraces want privacy film and retail units want solar film and graphics.
What window film costs in Wavertree
Rates start at about £60 per square metre for entry-level film and £95 per square metre for Solar Gard, both supplied and fitted. To put numbers on it, a bay window of about 3.5 m² would start at £210 (entry-level) or £330 (Solar Gard). For a kitchen window, around 1.2 m², think £70 to £115. For a glazed front door and side panels, around 2.5 m², think £150 to £240.
Treat these as signposts: what you are charged depends on how much glass there is, how it is reached and which film you choose. The survey is free and the price you are given afterwards does not move. The window film prices page has an estimator you can play with.
Wavertree window film questions
Can you film retail units outside hours?
Yes. We can work evenings, weekends and closed days, and we agree the timing and access with you in advance. Most shopfronts are done before opening and offices over a weekend, so there is no loss of trade.
Will mirror film hide me at night?
No. Use blinds or frosted film. Mirror and one-way films work because the outside is brighter than the inside. After dark with the lights on that reverses and the room can be seen into. For round-the-clock privacy choose frosted film, or keep a light blind for the evening.
Which film is best for keeping a room cool?
Choose solar control film. A south-facing shopfront can feel like a greenhouse by midday, and film makes it easier to keep stock and staff comfortable. It comes as reflective, light neutral and near-clear premium versions, and the right one depends on the room, how much sun it gets and how it should look. West and south-facing glass gains most. We hold samples against your windows at the hottest time of day so you can compare.
Can I fit window film myself?
It is possible, and film is sold for DIY use, but a clean professional finish is hard to achieve at home. A shopfront is the first thing customers see, and a bubbled DIY film can cost more in impression than it saves in price. Dust, creases and trapped bubbles are the usual faults, and large or high windows make it harder still. We apply film wet, squeegee it flat and trim it neatly, and the work is backed by the manufacturer's warranty.
