Window Tinting in Tottington: A Hillside Village of Stone and Semis
We fit film for the people of Tottington who are tired of a room that bakes in summer, a window that anyone can see into or a shopfront that fades its own stock. Film goes on the inside of the glass you already have, so there is no replacement glazing and the frames are untouched.
We have been fitting window film across the North West for more than fifteen years. Warranty is ten years or more on most films, issued by the manufacturer. We are regularly in Ramsbottom, Walmersley and Greenmount, and anywhere else in Greater Manchester.

Tottington: what the local glass is like
Tottington is a hillside village north of Bury, with stone and brick houses and views across the valley.

Village views
As elsewhere on the Pennine edge, the film has to keep the view. Near-clear and light films do. A rear extension takes the sun, and light neutral solar film does the work with the least visible change.

What to expect to pay in Tottington
Film is priced per square metre, and the fitting is part of that price. Expect from about £60 for entry-level film and £95 for Solar Gard. As a guide, a kitchen window (around 1.2 m²) comes to about £70 in entry-level film or £115 in Solar Gard; a bay window (about 3.5 m²) to £210 or £330; and the front windows of a typical house (around 10 m²) to £600 or £950.
After a free survey you get one fixed price in writing. Prices move with the film, the size of the panes and how hard the glass is to reach, so these are rough signposts only. Tottington window film questions
Will film suit a stone house?
A near-clear or light film changes the look least. The film is on the inside of the glass, so the stone and frames are untouched. Older and character buildings call for a gentler choice of film, so we choose one that reflects more than it absorbs, leave stained, leaded and etched glass alone and show samples against the real windows first.
Can you reach tall windows?
Yes, by tower. Access is included in the quote. Our fitters hold IPAF and PASMA cards for working at height, and access is surveyed first and included in the fixed quote, so tall or awkward glass is filmed safely and with no surprise extras on the day.
Will window film damage my windows?
Not when it is chosen for the glass. Windows partly shaded by trees or hillsides heat unevenly, which is why we check shade at the survey. We look at whether the units are single or double glazed, how big each pane is and how much shade falls on it, then pick a film that will not trap too much heat. If a window is unsuitable we say so.
Which film is best for keeping a room cool?
Choose solar control film. Hillside houses often face open skies with no shade, so rear rooms warm quickly. It comes as reflective, light neutral and near-clear premium versions, and the right one depends on the room, how much sun it gets and how it should look. West and south-facing glass gains most. We hold samples against your windows at the hottest time of day so you can compare.
