Window Tinting in Openshaw: Industrial Units, Offices and Workshops Near Eastlands
Window tinting in Openshaw for homes and businesses: professional film fitted to the inside of your existing windows to cut heat and glare, add privacy, slow fading and make glass harder to break. Anti-glare film evens out harsh daylight so screens, tills and televisions can be read without closing the blinds. Where privacy is the worry, one-way film gives daytime cover without drawing a blind or darkening the room much.
We work across homes, shops, offices, surgeries and sites, and the survey is free whichever you are. The fitters are our own employees and DBS checked. Our patch includes Gorton, Beswick and Ancoats and the wider Greater Manchester area.

Openshaw: the glass we see and what it needs
Openshaw is industrial Manchester: workshops, trade units, depots and offices on the roads east of the city centre, near the stadium and sports campus. Much of the glass is unit-front or reception glass facing yards and car parks.
Site offices and unit glass
A reception or site office on an industrial road wants three things: not to be on show to the yard, not to be dazzled and not to be an easy target. One-way film answers the first two, and security film on the ground-floor panes helps with the third. Our Haydock site-office job is the best comparison, filmed with one-way film on every window.

- Out-of-hours access
- We can fit evenings and weekends, and we agree gate access and sign-in with the site manager beforehand, so the first you hear of us on the day is the knock at the gate.
- Gatehouses and yard offices
- Units here usually have a small glazed office or gatehouse looking onto a yard, which takes the sun and puts staff on show. One-way film solves both and does not interrupt work.
- Yards and gatehouses
- Industrial units here usually have a small office or gatehouse looking onto a yard. That glass takes sun and invites eyes, which is where one-way film earns its keep.
Costs for window tinting in Openshaw
Everything is priced by the square metre of glass, fitting included. Entry-level film is from about £60 and Solar Gard from £95. Here is the sum for three typical jobs. A bay window is worth roughly 3.5 m², so about £210 to £330; a glazed front door and side panels is roughly 2.5 m², about £150 to £240; and a garden office is roughly 8 m², about £480 to £760.
Tall mill and industrial windows need a tower or platform, which is added to the quote. The survey is free and the price you are given afterwards does not move. You can see how a similar job looked in our Haydock job. You can also try the estimator on the window film prices page.
Openshaw window film questions
Can you work on a live unit?
Yes. We follow your site rules. We work on live sites and in occupied buildings, following your induction, vehicle routes, permits and security rules. Our fitters carry CSCS, IPAF and PASMA cards, and larger jobs are planned in stages so operations carry on.
Is mirror film right for a night-shift office?
Not usually. A lower-reflectivity film avoids the mirror effect inside after dark. A very reflective film turns the glass into a mirror inside after dark, which is unhelpful in a gatehouse or cabin used at night. We choose a lower-reflectivity film that still cuts heat and glare by day but keeps a clear view out at night, and trim it clear of runners and seals.
How long does window film last?
Professionally fitted film typically lasts ten years or more. Most of our films carry a 10-year manufacturer's warranty, and Solar Gard often outlasts its warranty. Cleaning with a soft cloth and an ammonia-free cleaner helps it last.
Can window film be removed?
Film is not permanent. It can be taken off cleanly, and many customers choose to replace a worn or unsuitable film with a better-matched one. If you lease the property or expect to move, that flexibility is part of the appeal. See film removal and replacement.
