Window Tinting in Marple: Peak-Edge Houses, a Canal and Hillside Views
We supply and fit window tinting in Marple, from a single bathroom window to a full shopfront, using film made for the glass and the job. It is applied to the inside of the glass, which keeps the weather off it and the cost well below replacement windows.
We bring samples to the survey and hold them against your own windows, so you choose by what you can see rather than what a brochure shows. Our fitters are our own employees, never subcontractors. We work in Marple Bridge, Romiley and Compstall and across Greater Manchester.

Marple: the glass we see and what it needs
Marple sits on the Peak District edge, with a canal, a famous aqueduct and houses that climb the hills. Views are the point, and so is weather: the light changes fast on a hillside.
Start with the problem in Marple
Keeping the view
Hillside houses are bought for the view, so film has to keep it. One-way, reflective and light neutral films all keep a clear view out in daylight. Near-clear films cut the heat and UV with hardly any tint. We hold samples against your own windows at the hour that bothers you, because a hillside light is not a showroom light.

- Marple Bridge and the river
- Homes at Marple Bridge sit lower beside the river, with less sun in winter and strong sun in summer. Light solar film helps in the bright months without making winter rooms gloomy.
- Steep streets with long views
- Marple's houses climb steep streets and look down the valley. Film must keep the view, so we favour light and one-way films over dark tints.

What to expect to pay in Marple
Film is sold by the square metre and fitted in the same price. Entry-level ranges start at about £60 and Solar Gard at £95. Take three-panel patio doors: at about 6 m² that is £360 to £570. A pair of French doors is closer to 4 m², so £240 to £380, and the front windows of a typical house at about 10 m² runs from £600 to £950.
A visit to measure up is free, and the quote is a single fixed figure. A rough sum is easy, but the exact figure depends on measurements we take on site. Premium 3M film starts at £300 per square metre and suits glass that has to stay clear, such as period frontages. Rough figures for other jobs are on the window film prices page.
Marple window film questions
Will film spoil the view?
No, with one-way, reflective or light neutral film. Not if you choose well. One-way, reflective and light neutral films all keep a clear view out in daylight. A darker film changes the view more, which is why we hold samples against your own window, at the time of day you use the room, before you decide.
Does film cope with exposed sites?
It is inside the glass, so the weather does not reach it. We check the glass type first. Working safely on an active site is routine for us: health and safety accredited procedures, employed fitters, public liability insurance and a schedule agreed with you before we arrive.
Can I fit window film myself?
DIY film is available, but professional results are very different. Conservatory and glass-room panes are large, awkward to reach and often overhead, which makes them the hardest film job to do well by hand. Film cut to the pane and applied wet in a clean way has no bubbles, creases or gaps, and is warranted. Large panes, glass roofs and tall windows are hard to do well, and a poor job is hard to remove, so most customers prefer a professional fit.
How long does window film last?
Most professionally fitted film outlasts a decade. Glass roofs take the harshest sun of any glass in a house, so we choose film that is made for that exposure. The films we use are covered by manufacturer's warranties of 10 years or more, and in our experience Solar Gard in particular often keeps going beyond its warranty. Sun exposure, cleaning habits and glass type all play a part.
