Window Tinting in Irlam: Industrial Estates and Quiet Estates
We fit window tinting in Irlam for houses, flats, shops and offices alike, using thin film on the inside of the glass rather than replacing it. One-way film lets you keep the view and lose the audience, as long as you remember it reverses after dark. For south and west-facing glass, solar control film is usually the first thing to try: it takes the heat out of the room and softens the glare at the same time.
The person who surveys your windows is the person who fits the film, so there are no hand-offs. Our fitters are our own employees, never subcontractors. We work in Cadishead, Eccles and Partington and across Greater Manchester.

Irlam: what the local glass is like
Irlam sits on the ship canal edge of Salford, with industrial estates and works on one side and housing estates on the other. The commercial glass is working glass: offices, reception areas and site cabins.

Reception glass on an estate
A reception or office on an industrial estate usually has a glazed front facing a car park. The people inside would rather not be on show, and the screens would rather not be in the sun. One-way film handles both by day, and a lower-reflectivity film is better for any space used at night. On the housing estates, rear glass and patio doors are the usual job.

- The ship canal edge
- Irlam sits on the old ship canal, with works and units on one side and housing on the other. Unit glass faces yards and car parks, so one-way film and glare control do most good there.
- Canal-edge sites
- Irlam sits beside the ship canal, with works and units on one side and housing on the other. Unit glass faces yards and car parks, and that is where privacy and glare film does most good.
- Shift working
- Where a unit runs late, the film has to look right from inside after dark as well as by day, so we choose a lower-reflectivity film rather than a mirror finish.
What window film costs in Irlam
Our starting rates are about £60 per square metre for entry-level film and £95 for Solar Gard, and the fitting is included in both. Worked through, a garden office at about 8 square metres starts at £480 with entry-level film and £760 with Solar Gard, a bay window at about 3.5 starts at £210 and £330, and a pair of French doors at about 4 starts at £240 and £380.
No charge for the survey, and the price is fixed once we have seen the glass. Houses of the same type are quick to measure, and doing several together keeps costs down. You can see how a similar job looked in our Haydock job. You can also try the estimator on the window film prices page.
Irlam window film questions
Can you film a cabin used at night?
Yes, with a film that does not turn the glass into a mirror inside. A very reflective film turns the glass into a mirror inside after dark, which is unhelpful in a gatehouse or cabin used at night. We choose a lower-reflectivity film that still cuts heat and glare by day but keeps a clear view out at night, and trim it clear of runners and seals.
Can you work on a live estate?
Yes. We follow your site rules, plan the work in stages and keep clear of vehicle routes. Working safely on an active site is routine for us: health and safety accredited procedures, employed fitters, public liability insurance and a schedule agreed with you before we arrive.
How much does window tinting cost in Irlam?
How much depends on how much glass there is and which film you choose. Conservatories are the biggest jobs in a home because of the amount of glass, so we quote them separately. Starting rates are about £60 per square metre for entry-level, £95 for Solar Gard and £300 for 3M. We measure first, then fix the price in writing.
How long does window tinting take in Irlam?
Short jobs take minutes, a bay or patio doors an hour or two, and a typical house about a day. A typical estate house with French doors and a couple of windows is a day's work, often less. Larger or higher glass, glass roofs and big commercial sites take longer, and we say how long in the quote.
