A wooden room with a glass front
A timber garden room heats up differently from a house. It is lightly built, it is all in the open, and its glazing is the main way the sun gets in.
This one has two tall windows and a pair of French doors, so a large share of the front is glass facing the lawn.
Reflective film on the windows and doors
We filmed both tall windows and the French doors with reflective solar film. In the photo, the garden is mirrored back from the glass, and the room behind it is no longer easy to see into.
The result is a room that is easier to use on a sunny day and a bit more private.
Leaving the top openers working
Each tall window has an opener at the top. We filmed the whole glass but kept the film clear of the hinges and seals, so the openers still work.
The French doors have grey uPVC frames, and the film was trimmed neatly to them.
A summerhouse that looks finished
The timber, grey frames and mirror glass give the garden room a slightly more modern look. Nothing about the structure has changed, and the glass is exactly where it was.

Yes, as long as the glass is sound. We film the glass and trim neatly to the frame.
Will film help keep the room cooler?
Yes, but a lightly built garden room also heats through its roof and walls. Film reduces the sun through the glass, which is the main source of heat.
