Window Tinting in Disley: A Peak District Gateway Village
If a room in Disley is too hot, too bright or on show to the street, window tinting is usually the cheapest cure. We fit solar, privacy, frosted, UV and security films to homes and commercial premises. Frosted film gives the look of etched glass at a fraction of the cost, and it can be taken off again later. One-way film is the usual answer where passers-by can see in: by day it works like a mirror from outside while your own view stays clear.
If film turns out not to be the answer for your glass, we will say so. Film is cut to each pane and fitted wet, so the edges are neat and the frames are untouched. Marple, Poynton and Whaley Bridge and the neighbouring towns are all part of our regular patch.

What we find in Disley
Disley is a village at the edge of the Peak District, with hillside houses, a railway station and views over the Cheshire hills.

A view to keep
Houses on the Peak edge are bought for their views, and film has to keep them. One-way, reflective and light neutral films all keep a clear view out. Near-clear film cuts heat and UV with hardly any tint. We hold samples against your own windows.

- A gateway to the Peak
- Disley sits at the edge of the Peak District, and many houses look toward the hills. Film should keep that view, so light and one-way films are better than dark tints.
- Near Lyme Park
- Visitors to the park pass through, and village cafes and shops get weekend trade. We fit on weekdays and leave the glass clean for the busy days.
- Houses on the Buxton Road
- The main road carries steady traffic close to front windows. One-way film by day gives privacy and a calmer room, and a blind covers the evening.
Costs for window tinting in Disley
The price comes from how much glass there is. Our entry-level films start at about £60 a square metre and Solar Gard at £95, fitted. As a guide, a glazed front door and side panels (around 2.5 m²) comes to about £150 in entry-level film or £240 in Solar Gard; a bay window (about 3.5 m²) to £210 or £330; and three-panel patio doors (around 6 m²) to £360 or £570.
A visit to measure up is free, and the quote is a single fixed figure. Hillside houses sometimes need extra access for raised windows, which we check at the survey. You can also try the estimator on the window film prices page.
Disley window film questions
Will film keep my view?
Yes. Light, reflective and one-way films all keep a clear view out in daylight, so the view stays. We show samples against your own window at the time of day you use the room so you can judge how much it changes.
Does the weather affect film?
No. It is inside the glass. Film is applied to the inside of the glass, so weather, spray, salt and sand do not reach it. What matters is the glass itself and how much sun it takes, which we check at the survey. Film on a sea-facing window lasts as long as film anywhere else.
How long does window film last?
Most window film is designed to outlast a decade. We back that with manufacturers' warranties, and in our experience good solar film often keeps its colour and clarity beyond its warranty period.
Can window film be removed?
Yes, film can be removed. We use heat or steam and careful scraping, and the glass is normally left clean. If your needs change, we can replace it with a different film. See our window film removal and replacement service.
