Window Tinting in Childwall: A Leafy Suburb of Large Semis and Detached Houses
Looking for window tinting in Childwall? Our film goes on to the windows you already have and deals with sun, glare, overlooking and fading, whether the building is a home or a business. Film goes on the inside of the glass you already have, so there is no replacement glazing and the frames are untouched.
We work across homes, shops, offices, surgeries and sites, and the survey is free whichever you are. Our fitters are employees, not subcontractors, and each one is DBS checked. Gateacre, Woolton and Wavertree and the neighbouring towns are all part of our regular patch.

Gardens and glass
Houses with large gardens have large rear glass: patio doors, extensions and garden rooms. Light solar film with UV protection handles heat, glare and fading, and one-way film gives the front rooms some privacy.

What to expect to pay in Childwall
The price comes from how much glass there is. Our entry-level films start at about £60 a square metre and Solar Gard at £95, fitted. Here is the sum for three typical jobs. A garden office is worth roughly 8 m², so about £480 to £760; a glazed front door and side panels is roughly 2.5 m², about £150 to £240; and a pair of French doors is roughly 4 m², about £240 to £380.
These are illustrations, not quotes, because access, pane count and film choice all change the answer. Premium 3M film starts at £300 per square metre and suits glass that has to stay clear, such as period frontages. We fix the price in writing once we have measured your windows, at no charge for the visit. A comparable job is our Poynton one.
Childwall window film questions
Can you film a garden room?
Yes. They are glass-heavy, face the house and have no shade. Reflective solar film cuts the heat and glare and gives daytime privacy from the house, so the room becomes usable on a sunny day.
Will film help with fading?
Yes. Most solar films block up to 99% of UV, the biggest cause of fading. Ultraviolet light is the biggest single cause of fading, but visible light and heat contribute too, so film slows fading rather than stopping it. The protection is strongest on rooms with large south or west-facing glass.
Will window film damage my windows?
Film suits most modern glazing. Large panes in glass roofs and conservatories are the ones that need the most care, because they take the most heat. The cases that need care are large panes, sealed units with coatings and glass partly in shade, and for those we choose a film that reflects heat rather than absorbing it. We would rather tell you not to fit film than risk your glass.
Which film is best for keeping a room cool?
Solar control film is the one for heat. Conservatories and glass-roofed rooms are the hottest places in a house, so they gain the most from solar film. Reflective films reject the most and add daytime privacy. Light neutral films keep the glass looking clear. Near-clear premium films give strong heat rejection with almost no tint. We bring each to the survey so you can judge the room.
