Window Tinting in Accrington: A Town of Hard Red Brick and Mills
Whether it is a house, shop or office, window tinting in Accrington starts with a visit, a few samples held against your glass and a fixed price. Film goes on the inside of the glass you already have, so there is no replacement glazing and the frames are untouched.
We fit homes and shops alike, from a single window to a full building. Warranty is ten years or more on most films, issued by the manufacturer. We cover Oswaldtwistle, Great Harwood and Clayton-le-Moors and the rest of Lancashire.

Window tinting in Accrington: the local picture
Accrington is a mill town built of famously hard red brick, with terraces, big mill buildings and a busy town centre.
Start with the problem in Accrington
Mills and terraces
Mills want solar film on tall windows, reached by tower. Terraces want front-room privacy. Town-centre shops want UV film and a front that is hard to damage.

- The NORI brick connection
- Accrington's brick is so hard it was used for famous foundations, and the mills built from it have tall, plain windows. Their glass is large and old, which is why we choose films that reflect more than they absorb and reach them by tower.
- Red-brick mills
- Accrington's mills are built of famously hard red brick, with tall windows. Solar film reached by tower is typical, and a near-clear film if the building is listed.
Pricing a job in Accrington
The rate is per square metre of glass: entry-level film starts at about £60 and Solar Gard at £95, with the fitting included. To put numbers on it, a glazed front door and side panels of about 2.5 m² would start at £150 (entry-level) or £240 (Solar Gard). For a bathroom window, around 0.6 m², think £35 to £55. For the front windows of a typical house, around 10 m², think £600 to £950.
Once measured, you get one written price that does not change. Tall mill and industrial windows need a tower or platform, which is added to the quote. Our Chorley job gives a sense of scale.
Accrington window film questions
Can you reach mill windows?
Yes, by tower. Access is included in the quote. High glass is filmed pane by pane from the top down, from a scaffold tower or platform rather than a stretched ladder, and the cost of that access is shown in the quote before you commit.
Do listed mills need consent?
Possibly. A near-clear film is safer. Listed status and conservation areas can restrict visible changes. Film on the inside is reversible and usually easier to agree, and a near-clear film is much less noticeable than a mirror finish, so we start there and advise you to check with the council where a building is protected.
Can I fit window film myself?
Film is sold for DIY, and a small flat window on a good day can be done at home. Tall mill and industrial windows are out of reach without a tower or platform, which is not a DIY job. Where it goes wrong is size and edges: a large pane, a curved bay or a high window is hard to keep dust-free and flat, and a poor result usually has to be stripped off and redone.
How long does window film last?
Professionally fitted film typically lasts ten years or more. A shopfront in Accrington sees sun all day, which is the toughest test film faces and the one it is designed for. Most of our films carry a 10-year manufacturer's warranty, and Solar Gard often outlasts its warranty. Cleaning with a soft cloth and an ammonia-free cleaner helps it last.
