Windows on two walls at once
A corner office takes sun from two directions. The wrap-around windows here are generous, which is good for light and bad for glare and heat.
Anyone sitting at a desk by the windows has the sun at their screen for much of the day.
Reflective film on the lower panes
We filmed the lower panes, the ones at desk and eye height, where the glare and the sun reach people. The upper panes above are a separate matter.
In one photo the lower panes reflect the room.
Fitting at a working office
The photos show a film box and a toolbox on the floor, and blinds lowered. We worked from inside the office, one pane at a time, trimming the film to each frame.
A corner office that can be used
The wrap-around windows now look consistent along both walls. The room is calmer, and there is less need to keep the blinds down.
Offices like this are one of our commonest commercial jobs.
After · InsideQuestions about film in an office
Will film stop us needing blinds?
It reduces the need, but most offices keep blinds for low sun. Film takes off the harshest of it.
Can you work around staff?
Yes, we work one area at a time, or in the evenings and at weekends.
Is film better than air conditioning?
They do different things. Film reduces the heat coming in, which can ease the load on cooling, but it does not replace it.
