School Window Film Across the North West
A classroom with sun on the whiteboard and heat in the room is hard to teach in and hard to learn in. Blinds help, but they are another thing for staff to manage, and they cost money to replace.
Window film does its job without anyone touching it. We fit it in primary and secondary schools, nurseries and colleges across the North West, using DBS-checked fitters who are used to working around pupils and staff. Our fitters offer school window film in all five North West counties, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria, with surveys in Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Chester, Preston, Lancaster and Carlisle.

Safeguarding and site access
The first question from a school is not about film, it is about who will be on site. Our fitters are employed by us, not subcontracted, and they are DBS checked. We carry public liability insurance and hold health and safety accreditation, with site cards and access training for work at height, and we send the documents a school's business manager or a trust's estates team asks for.
We agree the plan with you before we start: which rooms, which days, where we park, how we sign in and out, and how the work is kept away from pupils. Most of our school work is done in the holidays, evenings or at weekends, and we can also work in a room that has been taken out of use for the day.

High windows and old glass
Schools are full of glass that is hard to reach. Victorian classrooms have tall arched windows and sashes, and the glass above fire doors is out of reach of any blind. We use a scaffold tower inside the classroom, as our Chorley job did, and film each pane from the top down.
Modern extensions have different glass: grid glazing, top-opening windows and glazed doors. Our Chorley job covered both on the same site, with a reflective solar film across all of it.

What schools ask for
| Request | Film | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Glare on whiteboards and screens | Solar or anti-glare film | Roller blinds can stay for the worst days. See anti-glare film. |
| Heat in south-facing rooms | Solar control film | See solar control film. |
| Privacy at ground-floor windows | Frosted or one-way film | Useful for toilets and changing rooms. See privacy film. |
| Glazing next to doors | Safety film | Documentation supplied. See safety film. |
| Marking glass doors and screens | Bands or logos | See manifestation film. |

Schools across the North West
We work with schools and academies across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire and Merseyside. Because we fit in the holidays and at weekends, term-time disruption is minimal.
Schools across the North West have much the same mix of glass: Victorian classrooms with tall windows, modern extensions with big glazed walls and doors that need to be safe. In Greater Manchester we work with schools in Manchester, Salford and the boroughs around them, and in Cheshire from Chester to the market towns. In Merseyside we cover schools and colleges from Liverpool to the Wirral and Southport, and in Lancashire from Preston and Lancaster to Chorley, where our school job is. Carlisle and the rest of Cumbria are covered with travel planned in.
School work is planned around the timetable, in holidays, evenings and weekends. That is the same plan whether the school is in Manchester or Liverpool, Chester or Preston, Lancaster or Carlisle. We work across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria, and we can group several schools in the same trust or area into one programme. School window film questions
Are your fitters DBS checked?
Yes. Our fitters are employed by us, not subcontracted, and DBS checked.
Can you work during the holidays?
Yes. Most school work is done then, and we also fit evenings and weekends.
Can film go on fire doors and fire-exit glass?
Fire-rated glass is tested as a complete unit, so we check the specification before filming any pane in a fire door or screen.
What paperwork do you provide?
Insurance details, accreditation, the film's technical data and a written warranty.
What does it cost?
Film starts at about £60 per square metre. A school quote depends on the number of rooms and the access needed, and is fixed and in writing.
Can you do school window film across the North West?
Yes. We fit school and college window film in Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria, including schools in and around Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Chester, Preston, Lancaster and Carlisle. Work is planned for holidays and evenings, and we supply safety film data for glass beside doors.
