Residential Window Tinting Across the North West
At home it is usually one room causing the trouble: a conservatory that cannot be used in July, bi-fold doors that turn the kitchen into a greenhouse, a front window that the whole street can see into. Window film fixes that room without new glazing, heavy blinds or losing the view.
We fit it for homeowners, landlords and developers across the North West, from city-centre flats to country houses. We bring residential window tinting to Manchester, Salford and the rest of Greater Manchester, Chester and Cheshire, Liverpool and Merseyside, Preston, Lancaster and Lancashire, and Carlisle and Cumbria.

The rooms we are asked about most
Heat is the most common reason, followed by privacy, and then fading. The room usually tells us which film to start with, so it helps to begin there.
Conservatories and glass roofs
A conservatory is the room people mean when they say a house is too hot. The roof takes the sun from above all day and the walls take it from the side, so the room is bright and warm long before the house is.
Film on the glass roof and the side glazing takes the edge off both. We cover it in more detail on our conservatory window tinting page, including what changes if the roof is solid or polycarbonate.

Bi-fold doors, patio doors and extensions
Rear extensions are built for light, and the sun gets in with it. A light solar film keeps the doors looking clear and removes the worst of the glare and heat. Where privacy from the garden matters as well, a one-way film can do both jobs.
These doors are also where security film makes the most sense, which is covered on the security film page.

Bay windows, front doors and street-facing glass
Front rooms and entrance halls are the places that can be seen into. Reflective film gives a bay window daytime privacy while the view out stays clear, and frosted film on door side panels hides the hall without losing the daylight.
Our privacy film page sets out how the options differ, including what happens after dark.

Garden rooms, summerhouses and cabins
A lightly built garden room heats up fast and has all its glass in one place. Film on the doors and windows makes it usable on a sunny day and keeps the contents out of view from the house.

Choosing a film for your home
A starting point. We confirm on the day against your own glass.
| Room | Usual problem | Film we reach for |
|---|---|---|
| Conservatory | Heat and glare from roof and walls | Solar control film, often reflective |
| Bi-fold or patio doors | Sun, glare, and being on view | Light solar film, or one-way film |
| Front bay or hall | Passers-by looking in | One-way film, or frosted film for doors |
| Bathroom and cloakroom | Overlooked at all hours | Frosted film |
| Staircase or lounge floors | Fading and glare | UV protection film or a light solar film |
| Patio doors, ground floor | Break-in risk | Security film |
Rented, leasehold and listed homes
If you own the house outright, you can usually go ahead. A leasehold flat, a rented home or a listed building is different. Leasehold flats often have restrictions on external changes, and the glass can belong to the freeholder. Landlords usually say yes when they see that film can be taken off again. Listed buildings and conservation areas can need consent where the film changes how the building looks from the street.
We can supply the manufacturer's technical data and a description of the work to make any of these requests easy to put.
For landlords: Film on rental properties is straightforward to remove, and it can reduce complaints about heat and overlooking from tenants.

Window film for homes across the North West
We work in homes from Greater Manchester suburbs to Cheshire villages, Lancashire towns and Cumbrian market towns, and most of the jobs are within an easy drive of Manchester.
Whether it is a terrace in a city suburb or a detached house in the country, the process is the same: a free survey, samples on your own glass and a fixed price.
Homeowners across the North West ask us about heat, glare, privacy and fading. In Greater Manchester we fit houses and flats in Manchester and Salford and the suburbs around them. In Cheshire the work includes Chester's period streets and the large houses of the Wilmslow and Knutsford area, in Merseyside terraces and seaside homes from Liverpool to Southport, and in Lancashire the bungalows and villas around Preston, Lancaster and the Fylde coast. In Cumbria we cover Carlisle, Kendal and the Lakes.
Whatever your county, the survey is free and you see samples on your own windows before you decide. We group homes in the same street or village across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire to share the visit, and show Cumbrian travel openly in the quote. Home window tinting questions
Will the film make my house dark?
Not unless you choose a dark one. Films run from almost clear to heavily tinted, and many solar films cut a large share of the heat while letting most of the daylight through.
Can film go on double glazing?
Yes, and most of the film we fit goes on double glazing. We check the glass type first, because some films can put stress on certain sealed units, particularly large panes.
Will it affect my window warranty?
It can, depending on the glazing manufacturer. We can give you the film's technical data so you can ask them.
How long does a house take?
Most homes are done within a day. A single bathroom window is a short job.
What does it cost?
Film starts at about £60 per square metre for entry-level ranges and rises with performance. We give a fixed price after a free survey.
Do you fit window film in homes across the North West?
Yes. We fit residential window film in houses, bungalows and flats in Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria. That includes the cities of Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Chester, Preston, Lancaster and Carlisle and the suburbs, villages and seaside towns around them. The survey is free and the quote is fixed.
