Window Tinting for Penrith and Eden Valley Homes: Sandstone Houses, Farmhouses and Barn Conversions
We provide residential window tinting in Penrith: professional window film for houses, bungalows and flats, fitted to the glass you already have. Security film is thicker than ordinary film for a reason: it keeps broken glass together and makes forced entry far harder.
Because film goes on the inside, there is no scaffolding, no building work and nothing to repaint. Warranty is ten years or more on most films, issued by the manufacturer. We cover Eamont Bridge, Langwathby and Pooley Bridge and the rest of Cumbria.

Window film for Penrith homes: what we find locally
The Eden Valley around Penrith is farmhouse and barn-conversion country, with sandstone houses, big new windows set into old walls and open views across the valley. Many of the houses are sizeable and many of the windows are large.
Our Ramsbottom barn conversion is the closest comparison.
A barn conversion's big glass
Our Ramsbottom job is a barn conversion with a double-height glazed entrance screen around the front door. Hall and staircase were hot, bright and, in time, fading. We fitted reflective solar control film to the full height of the screen, which cut heat and glare, kept the staircase visible and slowed UV fading.
Eden Valley barn and farm conversions have the same glass in thick sandstone walls. See the Ramsbottom job page.

Penrith residential window film questions
Can film go on a tall barn-conversion screen?
Yes, by tower, in full-height lengths. A big screen takes strong sun, so film makes a big difference. Our fitters hold IPAF and PASMA cards for working at height, and access is surveyed first and included in the fixed quote, so tall or awkward glass is filmed safely and with no surprise extras on the day.
Will film keep my valley view?
Yes. Not if you choose well. One-way, reflective and light neutral films all keep a clear view out in daylight. A darker film changes the view more, which is why we hold samples against your own window, at the time of day you use the room, before you decide.
Is it worth it for one house?
It can be. Grouping neighbours or rooms makes it better value. It can be. Grouping rooms or neighbours makes it better value. If you have friends or neighbours with the same problem, tell us, and we will plan the visit together.
How long does window film last?
Quality film lasts many years. Exposed hillside sites see harsh weather, but film is on the inside of the glass and is not touched by it. Ours are backed by manufacturer warranties of 10 years or more, and in our experience Solar Gard often outlasts its warranty. Cleaning with a soft cloth and an ammonia-free cleaner, and keeping sharp tools away from the edges, helps it last.
Can window film be removed?
Yes, film can be removed. We use heat or steam and careful scraping, and the glass is normally left clean. If your needs change, we can replace it with a different film. See our window film removal and replacement service.
