Window Tinting for Northwich Homes: Riverside Houses, Timber-Framed Properties and 1930s Semis
For residential window tinting in Northwich, we fit solar, privacy, frosted, UV and security films to patio doors, bay windows, kitchens, bathrooms, extensions and conservatories. Solar control film lowers the temperature of a sun-baked room without darkening it as much as most people expect. UV protection film slows the bleaching of carpets, wood and stock in sunny rooms, and it hardly shows.
A typical house takes a day, and we clear up as we go. We would rather advise on the right film than sell the most expensive one. From Winnington, Hartford and Davenham out to the edges of Cheshire, the process is the same.

Homes in Northwich: what the glass is like and what helps
Northwich's homes are as varied as its buildings. There are black-and-white timbered houses that are a Cheshire trademark, Victorian terraces near the river, 1930s semis in the suburbs and newer estates on the edges. Quite a lot of them look onto water or green space.
The brief is more often privacy and heat than anything exotic.

| 1930s semi | Front room on the road | One-way film by day, blinds for the evening |
| New-build with patio doors | Heat and glare | Reflective solar film |
A barn-style house not far away
Our Mobberley job, a barn-style house with arched and round windows and a glazed entrance, is the closest example of film on a character house in this part of Cheshire. The same approach applies to any timber-framed or older property: the film goes on the inside, cut to each pane, and we choose it for the glass and the look. See the Mobberley job page.

Privacy from close neighbours and less glare at the back and side of the house.Things people in Northwich ask us to plan around
- Hartford and Davenham
- The villages round Northwich have 1930s semis and newer houses with big rear doors. Light solar film is the usual job, and neighbours can book together.
- Houses by the Weaver
- Homes near the Weaver and the flashes get bright light off the water in the afternoon. A light neutral film evens out the glare while keeping the view, and suits both older cottages and newer houses.
What window film costs in Northwich
There is no day rate or hidden extras on the film itself: it is a price per square metre, from roughly £60 for entry-level film and £95 for Solar Gard. Some examples: three-panel patio doors, £360 to £570 (about 6 m²); a pair of French doors, £240 to £380 (about 4 m²); a kitchen window, £70 to £115 (about 1.2 m²).
Houses of the same type are quick to measure, and doing several together keeps costs down. Measure first, quote second: you get one fixed written price after a free visit. For more examples, see the window film prices page.
Northwich residential window film questions
Will film suit a timber-framed house?
A near-clear or light neutral film changes the look least. The film is on the inside of the glass, so the timber frame and the character of the house are untouched, and small panes are cut one by one.
Can film help with glare off water?
Yes. A light solar film evens the light out. Low sun reflecting off water is hard to block with a blind, and a neutral film softens it across the whole window without losing the view.
Will mirror film hide me in the evening?
No. Use blinds or frosted film. Think of mirror film as a daytime tool. When the lights come on it works in reverse, so people outside can see in. Frosted film is the one that works round the clock.
Can window film be removed?
Yes, film can be removed. New-build owners often wonder about resale, and film can simply be taken off before a sale if you prefer. We use heat or steam and careful scraping, and the glass is normally left clean. If your needs change, we can replace it with a different film. See our window film removal and replacement service.
Will window film reduce my energy bills?
The effect is real but modest. Solar control film cuts the sun's heat entering a room, easing reliance on fans or air conditioning in summer, and thermal film reflects some heat back in winter. We do not promise a figure, because it varies with glass and orientation, but comfort gains are usually obvious.
