Window Tinting for Crewe Homes: Railway Terraces, 1930s Semis and New Estates
If you are looking for residential window tinting in Crewe, the short version is that we fit thin, clear film to the inside of your windows, doors and conservatory glass, and it deals with heat, glare, fading and privacy. Frosted film gives the look of etched glass at a fraction of the price, and it can be taken off later.
Many customers start with the one room that bothers them most and add others later. Tell us the problem and a few photos of the glass, and we will say what we would fit and roughly what it would cost. Whether you are in Nantwich, Sandbach and Haslington or elsewhere in Cheshire, you get the same survey and the same fixed price.

Homes in Crewe: what the glass is like and what helps
Crewe is famous for its railway terraces, the long rows of Victorian houses laid out for the workers. Front rooms open straight onto the street. Alongside them are 1930s semis and a lot of newer estates on the edge of the town.
We are some distance from Crewe, so we say plainly what the visit would involve.

- Railway terraces
- Crewe's railway terraces were laid out for the workers, with front windows almost on the pavement. Mirror film by day and frosted film for stairs and bathrooms is the usual package.
- Leighton and the newer estates
- The newer estates toward Leighton have large rear doors facing small gardens and very little shade. A light solar film on the patio doors takes the heat out of the kitchen and keeps the room looking the same.
Costs for window tinting in Crewe
Window film is priced per square metre, supplied and fitted, from about £60 for entry-level film and £95 for Solar Gard. To put numbers on it, a glazed front door and side panels of about 2.5 m² would start at £150 (entry-level) or £240 (Solar Gard). For the front windows of a typical house, around 10 m², think £600 to £950. For a garden office, around 8 m², think £480 to £760.
Where glass is awkward or high, access equipment is added to the figure, which is why we check before quoting. After a free survey you get one fixed price in writing. You can see how a similar job looked in our Great Sankey job.
Crewe residential window film questions
Is it worth filming one room?
Yes. If one room is the problem, film on that room costs far less than blinds or new glazing. We start with the room that matters and leave the rest.
Will mirror film hide me in the evening?
No. Use blinds or frosted film. Mirror and one-way films work because the outside is brighter than the inside. After dark with the lights on that reverses and the room can be seen into. For round-the-clock privacy choose frosted film, or keep a light blind for the evening.
Can several neighbours do it together?
Yes, and it keeps the visit simple. Neighbours often book together, and it makes sense: we measure each house, quote each one separately and fit them on the same visit, so you share the travel and set-up. Tell us who else is interested and we will plan it.
Will window film reduce my energy bills?
Solar control film reduces the heat entering a room, which can reduce the need for fans or air conditioning in summer, and thermal film reflects some heat back in winter. The biggest change is usually in the conservatory, where summer temperatures can be dramatically lower. The effect is real but modest, so we do not promise a saving. The main gains are comfort, less glare and more privacy.
How much does window tinting cost in Crewe?
It depends on how much glass you have and which film you choose. Conservatories are the biggest jobs in a home because of the amount of glass, so we quote them separately. Entry-level films start at about £60 per square metre, Solar Gard at £95 and premium 3M near-clear films at £300. Most homes in Crewe fall somewhere between a few tens of pounds for a single window and several hundred for a whole house. The survey is free and the quote is fixed.
