Decorative and Patterned Window Film Across the North West
Decorative window film turns plain glass into a feature: a frosted pattern, a gradient that fades from clear to private, a coloured panel or a printed design. It goes on the glass you already have, it can be changed or removed later, and it gives privacy and style in one go.
We design, cut, print and fit it for homes, offices, shops and clinics across the North West. This page covers patterned, coloured, gradient and printed looks. For logos and signage, see branded window film. From Greater Manchester and Cheshire to Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria, we offer decorative and patterned window film in every North West city, including Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Chester, Preston, Lancaster and Carlisle.

In short
Decorative film is a design on glass: cut frosted patterns, gradients, coloured translucent panels and full-colour prints. It gives privacy and style without replacing the glass, and it can be removed and changed later.
Four kinds of decorative film
Patterned frosted
Stripes, borders, geometric shapes and other designs cut from frosted film. The glass keeps its light and gains privacy where the pattern is.
Gradient
A film that fades from clear to frosted, so the glass is private at one end and open at the other. Popular on partitions and shower screens.
Coloured and translucent
Tinted film in a colour, from soft pastels to stained-glass effects. The glass glows with colour when the light is behind it.
Printed designs
Full-colour artwork, photographs and illustrations printed onto film. For feature windows, reception walls and shop displays.
Gradient and fade films
A gradient film is a good answer to a common problem: you want privacy at seated height but do not want the whole pane frosted. The film fades from clear at the top to frosted at the bottom, or the other way up. It looks smooth, rather than hard-edged like a band, and it suits meeting rooms, office partitions and bathrooms.
The look depends on the glass size and where the fade starts, so we do a mock-up for you before anything is cut.
Which look for which glass
| Place | Look | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| Front door side panels | A cut pattern, or a stained-glass look | Daylight into the hall, no view through, and a feature at the front of the house |
| Stairwell windows | Bands or a gradient | Privacy at the landing without losing the daylight. See our Wilmslow job |
| Office partitions | Gradient or a patterned band | Privacy at eye level, and a marker for the glass. See glass manifestation |
| Shower screens and bathrooms | A fine pattern or a gradient | A softer look than plain frosting. See frosted window film |
| Shop windows and reception glass | Printed designs | A feature that works as signage. See branded window film |
From idea to glass
Brief
You tell us what the glass is, who sees it and what you want it to say.
Design
We work from your artwork or ideas, and send a visual so you can see it on your own windows.
Cut or print
The design is cut or printed to the exact size of each pane.
Fit
Applied wet and aligned to the glass, so lines run true across doors and panels.
At home
At home, decorative film is usually about privacy with a finish. A stairwell window with frosted bands, a front door with a patterned panel or a bathroom with a delicate etched look all do the job of a blind with more style. Our Wilmslow job, with frosted bands on a tall stairwell window beside solar film on the big front windows, shows how it can be part of the design of a house.

In offices, shops and clinics
In a commercial space the film does a second job. A band or a pattern gives privacy to a meeting room, marks the glass so people can see it and ties into the rest of the interior. We fit it out of hours so the business keeps trading, and the film can be changed when the design does.

We fit decorative film across the North West. Shops and offices in town and city centres, and homes in the suburbs and villages, are the most common jobs.
Decorative and patterned film is used in homes, offices and shops across the North West. In Greater Manchester it goes onto the glass partitions and entrances of Manchester and Salford offices and the front doors of the suburbs, and in Cheshire onto the stairwells and entrance panels of larger houses and Chester's practices. In Merseyside it suits Liverpool's apartments and Southport's villas, in Lancashire the doors and shopfronts of Preston and Lancaster, and in Cumbria the guest houses and shops of Carlisle and the Lakes.
Because decorative film can be a designed look, we show samples and mock-ups on your glass across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria. Whether the building is in Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, Preston, Lancaster, Salford or Carlisle, the process is the same: a free survey, a design agreed with you and a fixed price. Decorative window film questions
What is the difference between decorative and frosted film?
Frosted film is a plain, even frost. Decorative film is a designed look: a cut pattern, a gradient, a colour or a print. Frosted film is often the base for decorative designs.
Can I have my own design?
Yes. Send artwork if you have it, or tell us what you have in mind, and we will mock it up on your windows.
Will it damage my glass?
No. The film and its adhesive can be taken off, leaving the glass clean.
Can I combine it with solar film?
Yes, but it needs planning. We choose the order of the films and the look with you.
Can you fit it on curved glass?
It depends on the curve. Gentle curves are fine. We check at the survey.
How long does it last?
Many years indoors. It is covered by a manufacturer's warranty, and can be changed or removed later.
Do you fit decorative window film across the North West?
Yes. We fit decorative, patterned and gradient window film in Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria, including homes, offices and shops around Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Chester, Preston, Lancaster and Carlisle. We show samples and a mock-up on your glass before anything is cut.
