Commercial Window Tinting in Kendal: Yards and Wynds, Outdoor Shops and Heritage Frontages
Commercial window tinting in Kendal turns plain glass into something useful. The film goes on the inside, the building stays open and the result lasts for years. Frosted film suits meeting rooms, consulting rooms and anything on view from the pavement. Window displays fade in the sun, and a clear UV protection film protects stock without changing how the shopfront looks.
We can supply data sheets and warranty paperwork for landlords, insurers and asset registers. Most of the films we fit are backed by a manufacturer's warranty of ten years or more. Whether you are in Staveley, Burneside and Sedgwick or elsewhere in Cumbria, you get the same survey and the same fixed price.

Premises in Kendal: what the glass is like and what helps
Kendal is the grey limestone town at the gateway to the Lakes, with a main street and a web of narrow yards and wynds running back from it, where many of its shops and cafes sit. Outdoor-gear retailers, independent shops, cafes and professional offices make up much of the trade.
Shop windows in a yard are often south- or west-facing and sheltered, so displays take a lot of sun, and the buildings are protected.

- Highgate and Stricklandgate
- The shops along Highgate and Stricklandgate have displays facing the sun. UV film protects stock and fine lettering carries the name, fitted before opening.
- Yards and wynds
- Shops and cafes in the old yards have sheltered, sunny windows in listed buildings. Clear UV film suits them, and consent is checked where the building is protected.
What to expect to pay in Kendal
You pay for the glass area, not for the visit: from about £60 per square metre for entry-level film and £95 for Solar Gard, fitted. Some examples: a surgery's front windows, £540 to £855 (about 9 m²); a salon or cafe front, £600 to £950 (about 10 m²); a meeting-room partition, £720 to £1,140 (about 12 m²).
For a shopfront the glass area is usually modest, and we fit outside trading hours at no extra charge. No charge for the survey, and the price is fixed once we have seen the glass.
Kendal commercial window film questions
Do you cover Kendal?
Yes, with travel shown clearly. Cumbria is the furthest part of our area, so we are open about how it works: travel is shown clearly in the quote, larger jobs are planned over a few days and grouping rooms, units or neighbouring properties lowers the cost per job. The survey and the fixed written quote are free.
Do listed buildings need consent?
A reflective film may. A near-clear film changes the look far less. Listed status and conservation areas can restrict visible changes. Film on the inside is reversible and usually easier to agree, and a near-clear film is much less noticeable than a mirror finish, so we start there and advise you to check with the council where a building is protected.
Can you fit outside hours?
Yes. Evenings, weekends and closed days are all available, and most shopfronts and offices are fitted outside trading hours so there is no lost trade. We agree access, parking and security with you in advance and leave the glass clean and ready for opening.
Will window film cut my air-conditioning costs?
The effect is real but modest. Solar control film cuts the sun's heat entering a room, easing reliance on fans or air conditioning in summer, and thermal film reflects some heat back in winter. We do not promise a figure, because it varies with glass and orientation, but comfort gains are usually obvious.
How long does commercial window film last?
Film life is measured in years, not months. A shopfront in Kendal sees sun all day, which is the toughest test film faces and the one it is designed for. Ten-year warranties are standard on the films we fit, and cleaning with a soft cloth and ammonia-free cleaner helps it reach and beat that.
