Commercial Window Tinting in Birkenhead: Hamilton Square, the Docks and Town-Centre Premises
Our commercial window tinting in Birkenhead is aimed at working buildings: reception glass, shopfronts, office floors, partitions, doors and site cabins, installed with as little disruption as possible. Because the film is fitted to existing windows, it is quicker and far cheaper than new glass, and it can be taken off again later.
If film is not the right answer for a building, we say so. Most of the films we fit are backed by a manufacturer's warranty of ten years or more. Whether you are in Oxton, Tranmere and Rock Ferry or elsewhere in Merseyside, you get the same survey and the same fixed price.

Window film for Birkenhead businesses: what we find locally
Birkenhead has an unusually grand centre. Hamilton Square is a Georgian square with dozens of listed buildings, many of them offices, and around it are a docks and shipyard district, a town centre and the college and hospital sites. The commercial glass is split between the formal and the industrial.
That means consent and near-clear films for the square, and one-way film and safety film for the working sites.
Three kinds of Birkenhead premises
Offices in Hamilton Square
Tall Georgian sash windows, listed buildings, screens in the sun. Near-clear solar film and neutral anti-glare film. See office window tinting.
Docks and shipyard sites
Site offices, gatehouses and units facing yards. One-way film and a lower-reflectivity film for night shifts. See industrial film.
Town-centre shops and services
Displays that fade and ground-floor glass. UV and security film. See shop and retail film.
The square and the council
Hamilton Square is a conservation area full of listed buildings. Film on the inside is reversible, and a near-clear or light neutral film changes how a building looks from the square far less than a reflective one. A reflective film on a listed frontage may need consent, so we say at the survey whether we think the council is likely to ask. Tall sash windows are filmed pane by pane, from a ladder or tower.

Costs for window tinting in Birkenhead
Everything is priced by the square metre of glass, fitting included. Entry-level film is from about £60 and Solar Gard from £95. To put numbers on it, a site cabin's windows of about 10 m² would start at £600 (entry-level) or £950 (Solar Gard). For a small office floor, around 30 m², think £1,800 to £2,850. For a single shopfront, around 8 m², think £480 to £760.
Measure first, quote second: you get one fixed written price after a free visit. If the glass is old or listed, a near-clear premium film is often the best choice and costs more per square metre. You can see how a similar job looked in our Haydock job.
Birkenhead commercial window film questions
Can you film tall Georgian windows?
Yes, pane by pane, from a ladder or tower. Georgian sashes are filmed carefully, and we choose a film that suits the old glass. High glass is filmed pane by pane from the top down, from a scaffold tower or platform rather than a stretched ladder, and the cost of that access is shown in the quote before you commit.
Do I need consent in Hamilton Square?
Possibly, for a reflective film. A near-clear film is the safer choice. Rules differ by building and by council. Reversible film applied to the inside of the glass is often acceptable, but listed status, a conservation area or a lease can change that. We tell you at the survey where we think consent may be needed, and we provide data sheets and a work description to support an application.
Can you work on a shipyard or dock site?
Yes, following your site rules. We work on live sites and in occupied buildings, following your induction, vehicle routes, permits and security rules. Our fitters carry CSCS, IPAF and PASMA cards, and larger jobs are planned in stages so operations carry on.
How much does commercial window tinting cost in Birkenhead?
How much depends on how much glass there is and which film you choose. Offices are priced by the area of glass, so a floor of windows and a few partitions is a very different figure from a single reception window. Starting rates are about £60 per square metre for entry-level, £95 for Solar Gard and £300 for 3M. We measure first, then fix the price in writing.
How long does a commercial window film job take in Birkenhead?
Most customers are surprised by how quick it is. Tall mill and industrial windows take longer because each floor is reached by tower or platform. A single room is often done in a morning, and a whole house in a day, with the glass cleaned and left tidy.
What is the difference between solar, security and safety film?
Solar control film is about heat, glare and UV. Security film is thicker and holds glass in its frame against forced entry. Safety film holds broken glass together to reduce injury, and can help meet workplace expectations for glazing. Many jobs combine more than one, and we advise at the survey which film does which job for your glass.
